Swat Valley is one of the beautiful places in Pakistan and is also referred to as “heaven on earth” by the natives. Also known as the Switzerland of Pakistan, Swat is lush green and is located about 250 kilometres away from Islamabad and 160 kilometres from Peshawar.
The unique and isolated region of Swat is on the northwest frontier of the Indian Subcontinent, neighbouring the mountainous tribal areas of Afghanistan, China, and Central Asia. Historically a melting pot of civilizations, the Swat valley today boasts a charming mix of Asian cultures.

The interaction of ideas between multiple cultures in the Swat valley has culminated in an ornate style in woodcarving, today known as Swati woodwork. This antique chair is hand carved by native artisans in Swat valley and features intricate carvings on all sides of the chair.

The chair has a unique ethnic style, masterful hand carving, low floor seating, and bold ornamentation. The chair is made of hardwood with a deep brown colour and the seating surface is made of interwoven leather.
