Elegant Mahogany Dining or Banquet Table
Circa: 1890
Dimensions: 66″ diameter x 30″ H
Finish: Good original
Description: Grand 66″ Round Solid Mahogany Dining Table that becomes a banquet table when the five leaves are inserted (two are original skirted leaves, three are original straight leaves).
This fine quality table has a sturdy built in mechanism whereby when extended, four suspended legs come down to make each end of the table very sturdy. Signed by maker “Hampton Shops 59 Spec.” The bulbous turned pedestal base has four ball in claw feet and the large solid top has a delicate carved rim all around the perimeter.
There are a few small old finish blemishes on the top and leaves, indicative of its age. All five leaves also have the the delicate carved rim - the mark of a very well made table. We had three of the table skirts restored. This versatile table can be used in variety of lengths - full extended (121″ very long oval) or with the two skirted leaves (88″ long oval), or closed ( 66″ round).
