Fantastic solid mahogany Victorian partners desk
Circa: 1880
Dimensions: 32″H x 60″W x 36″D
Finish: Wonderful deep rich original patina
Fantastic solid mahogany Victorian partners desk. The highly figured mahogany top has a rope carved edge. The curved skirt has carvings and a drawer on the right and a fake drawer on the left on both sides.
A writing slide pulls out of both ends just under the top. There are two drawers on the right side under the skirt with the fake drawers on the left. All have fabulous cast brass hardware. This desk features a carved maiden on each corner - very well executed!
There are deep recessed panels on the sides and the interior kneehole of the desk. The drawer interiors are made of sycamore - very attractive wood only used for extraordinary pieces.
