Heavily Carved Oak Sideboard
Circa: 1900
Dimensions: 84.5″H x 67″W (top surface) x 26″D
Finish: Refinished
Description: Very impressive solid quartered oak sideboard. There is a curved slightly hooded top over the arched original beveled glass mirror (some normal minor clouding of the mirror).
The top crest is deeply and intricately carved. Notice the winged griffins in the top corners of the mirror frame. There is a shaped candle shelf supported by a fluted carved column on each side of the mirror. The base consist of three top silverware drawers (the middle one has been recently felt lined), three cupboard doors, and a large drawer on the bottom.
The fronts feature raised beveled panels, extensive carvings, and ornate carved moldings. The sides of the case are paneled and the front has claw feet. The tiger oak grain on this piece is very vibrant.
