Highly Carved Horner Mahogany China Cabinet
Circa: 1890
Dimensions: 103″H x 57″W x 21″D
Finish: Refinished
Fabulous solid mahogany late Victorian china cabinet attributed to R. J. Horner, NYC. It has a great open carved crest and basket of fruit finials on either side. (Crest and finials have been restored). Beneath the crest are two rows of carved moldings above a band of detailed carvings of winged serpents, flowers and fruit.
A bearded man adorns each side of the case and the front and back feet are all carved. There are four glass shelves (one has been replaced) and an original mirrored back that shows some normal minor silver loss. The wooden back of the cabinet has been restored. This is one of the most impressive cabinets made by the one of the most renowned firms of the era!
