Outstanding Carved Victorian Mahogany Flat Top Desk

Outstanding Carved Victorian Mahogany Flat Top Desk with an exceptionally carved top. The center is raised with a perimeter of deep relief carvings of leaves, flowers and scrolling. There is an unusual configuration on the base, a center drawer, and two open shelves to either side.
The desk is fully carved all around and the sides are supported by open mouth lions on each corner. The base has open pierced carvings, a well carved center stretcher, and bulbous turnings with large knuckled claw feet. The drawer interior is birdseye maple (always a sign of quality). There is a slight scratch on the top surface and we added new casters. This is a beautiful desk in form and function!
