An early 1968 signed Paul Evans table or desk with glass top. The two large crescent-shaped bases are of patchwork polychromed welded steel with red, gold and blue-green patina and brazed brass decoration.
Welded and brazed motifs are stars, swirls and geometric patterns as well as a large welded signature PE 1968. The decoration is random, asymmetric and artfully applied. Original oval glass top.
I dont have the glass top, which easily allows you to customize the size of the table to your liking. You could also use these as a pair of consoles, end tables, bedside tables, etc - whatever you desire!
The pair measures 28.5 inches tall and at the widest part of the “U” measures about 21.5 inches. The two bases are crescent shaped and made of polychromed welded steel. The colors are red, gold, blue, green patinated and brazed brass decorations.
There is no damage to either piece, just a very liitle normal wear to the finish. This is certainly a piece of true art that would be desirable in any high-end collection.
