Rare Lion Carved Victorian Breakfast Table
Circa: 1870
Dimensions: 30.5″H x 41″Diameter
Finish: The top has been refinished with a hand rubbed shellac finish that was on it originally. The base is in excellent polished original finish.
Description: Rare small size Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian breakfast table. The entire top is burled! The thick shaped skirt has a sausage turning in the middle with a subtle incised carving underneath.
The extraordinary bold heavy base has extensive incised carvings and features four open mouth lion carved legs. Each leg has a bearded lion and a raised burled panel and carved rosette on each side. A series of small balls surround the tops of each of the claw feet.
