Rare Rococo Victorian rosewood console table
Circa: 1850
Dimensions: 29.5″H x 50″W x 23″D
Finish: Excellent polished original
Rare Rococo Victorian rosewood console table made by Alexander Roux, NYC. It has a white marble top that is an old replacement. Originally it would have had a wood top as evidenced by the lock in the drawer. There are elaborate carvings on the shaped skirt. The drawer has a divided satin wood interior.
The elegant finger carved legs have carvings at the top and bottom. The cross stretchers are open carved and support a lovely finial in the middle. We have a marble top table in our collection that has the identical legs, skirt and stretchers. It is signed by Roux thereby giving us this certain attribution.
