Set of Ten Griffin Carved Dining Chairs
Circa: 1900
Dimensions: 53″H x 27″W (arms) 48″H x 12″W (sides)
Finish: Refinished
Description: Magnificent set of ten large turn of the century solid quartered oak dining room chairs. A band of intricate carving surrounds the entire back. The arched top frames a pair of winged griffins. The two armchairs have a carved lions head at the end of each arm with wings underneath.
The curved front legs have carvings at the top and claw feet. These chairs were reupholstered 12 years ago and very seldom used. They have diamond tufted backs. Some of the side chairs have become slightly loose over the years but they are still very usable. A great suite to go with that exceptional R.J. Horner winged griffin dining table!
