Elegant walnut Victorian round center table featuring a lovely pietra dura marble top. The marble was likely imported from Italy by the manufacturer of the base. It has numerous different stones set into a game board design.
The skirt is shaped and has spool turnings on four sides. Four tapered columns hold up the top. The carved base has a number of applied buttons, four drop finials, and a superb open carved basket in the middle. It has the original brass castors. We suspect that this table was made by one of the better New York City firms of the period!
