Memory foam products are packed tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove them from their packaging and allow several hours to recover their full shape. In addition, being sealed in plastic packaging sometimes causes an odor. A few hours of airing usually removes the odor.
This matress is very comfortable. It is very firm, but not hard in anyway. My partner who is very large (300lbs plus) absolutely loved this matress and said he is getting the same one for another residence. My only complaint is how the matress itself was cut to fit a king size bed. It hangs over both sides of the box spring about an inch and a half or so. I am hoping it holds up well over time.
