Starter Kit Review: Seven years ago, I 
got my 2 cats a great big sisal scratching post/tree with hammocks that they love and play/climb/sleep/scratch on every day. Two months ago I thought I’d get them a second bed/tree to put by my desk so they will sit/sleep/play there instead of on my drawing tablet/keyboard/printer or whatever else is on my desk. I was lured by the cheap price of this Feline Furniture starter kit, so I ordered this and it arrived quickly and was fairly easy to put together. It looked okay and my cats took to it pretty quickly, and actually do choose it over sitting on the desk.
The problem is, I’ve had it for just two months and although only one of my cats uses it as a scratching post, several of the legs/posts are already completely shredded with the carpeting separating from the cardboard tubing. When you compare this to the sisal furniture that I’ve had for seven years, the sisal has held up 42x longer and is STILL in great shape…meanwhile the Feline Furniture already needs some replacement legs. It’s great that this product is modular, but not if I’m replacing parts on it every two months. Suddenly, it’s not such a great deal and I wish I’d spent 3-4 times as much to get something that would really last.
Starter Kit Review: I bought my first set of this furniture at a store back in 1996. My cats chose it as their favorite furniture back then. I kept my first piece for 9 years and it was rather tattered, but I didn’t want to throw it out because my cats loved it so much. Fortunately I was finally able to replace it. I am onto my 2nd and 3rd additions to my second set. Over the last 11 years I have had 12 cats pass through my house. All 12 cats choose this furniture to any other furniture in my apartment.

Each Plush Fur Hammock. provides a tender cradle into which your cat can sink to rest or sleep. The carpeted legs are perfect for climbing and scratching. The horizontal carpeted beams provide a sturdy framework for walking and jumping. A Spring Action Toy?is set in one of the end caps. Not only do cats love the Activity Center but people do as well! The Two (2) Plush Fur Hammocks and the Cozy Condo are easily removed and are machine washable to remove any dirt or parasites. Each hammock is supported by eight Velcro straps, which will support the heaviest cat. The color of the hammock is designed to accent any home decor and other colors are available. The carpeted 13.5-inch beams are easily cleaned with a wet cloth or squeegee and are individually replaceable in the event that any are destroyed through repeated scratching, as are the hammocks. There is no need to replace the entire kitty playground if only parts are damaged.
The unit is lightweight and is easily moved through the house, for example, from a corner to in front of a window. The horizontal carpeted beams serve as convenient carrying handles.
