Variable Balans kneeling chair
Variable Balans kneeling chair Reviews:
Bought one of these about a year ago to address lower back pain. Excellent style and comfort. Impressively, lower back pain has vanished. The wide set knee pads are a plus. Can sit for long periods of time without discomfort. The wooden frame is constructed of thin strips of wood laminated together that tend to come apart over time with the wooden strips cracking and breaking.
Once delamination has set in, the chair becomes rickety and unstable. Nevertheless, the price, style and function make this a compelling purchase if you’re experiencing lower back pain and don’t expect it to last forever. Recommended.
Variable Balans kneeling chair Reviews: My first computer office job was heavily into the whole ergonomics thing in the early 80s and we ALL had these chairs. We all loved them. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you “lean forward” on the leg rests. These chairs make it incredibly easy to simply sit comfortably, with good posture, because the curved bottom adjusts to YOUR balance.
Once you “learn to forget” the idea the chair should be holding you up, it really is effortless. As you shift position, the chair shifts with you, so it is easy avoid sitting in exactly the same position all day. The less expensive copies with flat bottoms are absolutely no substitute.
Variable Balans kneeling chair Reviews: This is a variation on the 1980s chair out of scandanavia. The original still available on ebay about 75% cheaper used is much more comfortable. The original had a solid bar to kneel on much more comfortable and stable. The new design double as a rocker and is trying to be to many things and is an inferior design ergonomically.
Variable Balans kneeling chair Reviews: This chair combines the ergonomic delight of a kneeling chair with the motion of a rocking chair into a truly comfortable seat. The partial-body rocking motion created by rocking the lower body and holding the upper body still to type at the computer helps subtly tone the abdominal and lower back muscles, which is a hidden bonus for those looking to put more activity into their lives without stepping away from the computer for too long.
My household owned a chair like this from before I was born until after I moved out 20-some years later. It withstood constant use from one large professional programmer in an office setting, followed by abuse by small children and careless use by computer-addicted teens.
Ever since moving out, I have been searching for a computer chair as kind to my back and neck, and have failed to find one. The closest I’ve come to duplicating my proper typing position on a different chair is by tilting my dining room chair (the type that’s bent in the shape of a hatless 5) forward on its front curve in a way that would be excessively unstable if I weren’t balancing myself against the computer desk.
If you aren’t already in love with kneeling chairs, you may want to try out a cheaper model first. If you adore kneeling chairs already, this kind is excellent and may be just the thing you’re looking for.
