Ashley Furniture closing southern Indiana location
Ashley Furniture licensee KHF Holdings LLC will close its Clarksville, Ind., store one year after opening it.
The lease expired on the location, 305 E. Lewis & Clark Parkway, KHF president Mike McCord said in a news release.
He added that KHF plans to build a full-scale store in southern Indiana in the future.
“A southern Indiana presence will continue to be a part of our retail plan for growth,” he said in the release. “We’ll wait for the right real estate opportunity to give our southern Indiana customers the full Ashley Furniture HomeStore experience.”
The store was closed Monday as employees marked down merchandise. About $2 million worth of floor models and inventory will be liquidated when the store re-opens on Thursday, the company said.
KHF will continue to operate Ashley Furniture HomeStores at 11521 Bluegrass Parkway in Jeffersontown, Ky., and 7375 Jefferson Boulevard, off the Outer Loop in South Louisville, Ky. Ashley Furniture HomeStores are independently owned and operated and licensed through an agreement with Ashley Furniture Industries of Arcadia.
Customers who ordered furniture at the Clarksville location will have those orders filled by the Jeffersontown store, KHF said.
