Factory fire destroys furniture store

The blaze broke out shortly before midnight at the Furniture Spot store on Great Eastern Highway.

Police believed the fire was lit deliberately.

It took firefighters 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control, and several hours to dampen the site.

The scene has been cordoned off in preparation for the police arson squad and fire and emergency services investigators to examine the site.
The blaze has caused severe structural damage to the building.
