Furniture Plus promotes ‘island hoppin’

Furniture Plus on Grand Bahama will be joining its sister store in New Providence in conducting store wide promotions giving their customers chances to win super prizes and much more.

The store will be ‘living it up’ in Grand Bahama with live remotes and free Bahamian tasty treats for all visitors on Saturdays.

“This will be our first big promotion for Independence and we are very excited to celebrate all month long and to promote our fellow islands.” said Scott Ferguson, General Manager Furniture Plus Grand Bahama. “Supporting each other during this economic time can only be helpful and remind us about the bigger family we have in our 700 islands.”
This year, the Furniture Plus creative team decided to take a spin off the Ministry of Tourism’s Island hoppin’ adventure and send four lucky locals on their very own Out Island Adventure.

Island Hoppin’ is one of the Ministry of Tourisms’ clever advertising promotions whi-ch encourages tourists to visit more than one island on their vacations in order to take in the full beauty and charm of our archipelago.

For the most part, this promotes the out islands, and serves to build their local economies and provide much needed work for the local vendors and merchants.

“For us it all started with our sister store in Grand Bahama, they had an idea for a sizzling Valentines Day promotion. We teamed up with Pelican Bay Resort, Sabor restaurant and Western Air to give our Nassau and Grand Bahama shoppers a chance to experience a luxurious Grand Bahama tourist experience,” said Krystynia d’Arville, director of Marketing & Sales for Furniture Plus. “It went over very well with our customers and our sales team too, so we decided to try it again for Independence with Eleu-thera.”

This move led to Furniture Plus teaming up with Valentines Resorts in Harbour Island, the Bohengy Ferry who kindly provided round-trip tickets to Harbour Island from Nassau, and Regional Air and Sky Bahamas – the airline carrier who will transport the Grand Bahama winners to the capital, the starting point of their island adventure.

“Independence is crazy here, and we go all out,” exclaimed d’Arville. “This is one of my favourite celebrations, we decorate the store, we decorate our staff, we have Saturday in-store events from 2 – 4 p.m. with a steel band, and now we’re offering a chance to visit one of our most beautiful islands.”

Customers can become eligible to win the Eleuthera Island Hoppin’ trip by making a purchase at Furniture Plus during the month of July.

In addition, Furniture Plus will also host a daily call in radio trivia on MORE FM, promoting all things Bahamian and giving away fantastic weekly prizes, including round trip flights to Nassau on Regional Air and Sky Bahamas for Grand Bahama callers and Bohengi Ferry tickets to Eleuthera for Nassuvians.

“Our business survives on locals who shop at home, we felt by supporting our fellow islands we can encourage others to spend their hard earned dollars at home too,” said d’Arville.
