P50M furniture bid invitation out soon

The publication of the invitation to bid for the procurement of P50 million worth of furniture and fixtures for the Bacolod City Government Center will be conducted next week, Bids and Awards Committee chairman Goldwyn Nifras said. Nifras said they are now reviewing the invitation and instruction to bidders provided by Government Procurement Policy Board.

“The eligibility requirements will remain substantially the same, only we are reviewing everything so that we can make it clearer to prospective bidders,” he said. Nifras said they are looking into items that are so technical and maybe difficult for the bidders to understand.
Another factor that caused the delay of the publication is the motion for reconsideration filed by Zacto Systems Philippines Inc., since they have to resolve it within the period allowed by law, he said.

Former Negros Occidental Board Member Victor Puey filed before the BAC his second motion for reconsideration of the disqualification of Zacto Systems Philippines from the bidding for the furniture and fixtures for the government center.

The BAC had unanimously denied last month Puey’s previous motion for reconsideration of its decision declaring Zacto Systems Philippines an ineligible bidder.

City Legal Officer Allan Zamora said the second motion for reconsideration of Puey was referred to him by Nifras.
