Watson joins A.R.T. Furniture
Case goods importer A.R.T. Furniture has hired Pat Watson to the newly created position of director of product development.
Watson is responsible for developing the product line from the concept stage to market introduction. He reports to Vice President John Iasiello.
Watson has more than seven years of industry experience in product development, logistics and quality assurance. Most recently, he served as director of product development at Broyhill. Prior to that, he was involved in product development and merchandising at Magnussen Home.
“We are thrilled to have someone of Pat’s caliber joining the A.R.T. team,†said Iasiello. “He has a proven track record of driving results with a team-oriented approach.â€
“As A.R.T. grows its market presence, the strengthening of our management team is a priority,†said Ed Grund, CEO of A.R.T. The company, headquartered in Ontario, Calif., opened in July 2004. The company has an exclusive arrangement with Chinese manufacturing power Markorto market goods from in the United States.
Watson said he enjoyed working with Broyhill and its CEO Jeff Cook, whom he followed from Magnussen. However, Broyhill’s Lenoir, N.C., offices are located more than 100 miles from Watson’s home in Greensboro, N.C. He now works out of A.R.T.’s office inside its Plaza Suites showroom here, allowing him more time to spend with his family.
In addition to its space here, A.R.T. has a permanent showroom in Las Vegas, with warehouse and distribution centers in China, Ontario, Calif., and Conover, N.C.
