Handsomely designed and built to last, this Strathwood resin wicker sun lounge chair offers classic style to weather ever-changing trends and reliable craftsmanship to stay pristine in outdoor conditions. This chaise lounge-style sun chair features the mid-sized, mocha-hued wicker weave of the Camano outdoor furniture line, which also includes sectional seat pieces, a roomy storage box, and side table. Overall, this lounger measures 81.5 by 27.2 by 17.75 inches (LxWxH).
The tightly woven wicker strands are made from durable polyethylene (PE) resin, which is designed to withstand fading, weathering, and aging within a temperature range of -70C (-94F) to 80C (176F) degrees. The washable wicker strands have a powder-coated finish with a modest sheen that easily sheds drizzle and accidental drips, and its looks will remain unchanged for three years under normal useage. No assembly required.
The wicker-covered seat has a gentle, rounded concave curve with a good bounce, while the back offers good lumbar support. The seat back can lay flat, or be adjusted upright in six different positions. The artfully curved, silvery gray arms are topped by a cherry-hued wood. The strong, aluminum frame offers curved details, block-wood legs on the front, and rubber wheels on the back for easy movement around your patio. When extended flat, this lounger measures 73.5 inches long and 24 inches wide.
The term “wicker” doesn’t refer to a particular material, but a style of construction that weaves together stiff strands of fibers such as rattan, willow, and bamboo. Woven furniture has been around since ancient Egypt, but wicker is believed to have been given its name in Scandinavia–with wika meaning to bend and vikker meaning willow in Swedish. Wicker was first popularized in America in the 1850s, and was used extensively in the Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the 20th century.
